“Donating blood is easier than watching ongoing India Australia cricket matches“ says NCP leaders and actors at a blood donation camp in Mumbai.

Mumbai: Looking at the current COVID-19 situation around the country, a blood and plasma donation camp was organised in Andheri west by NCP leader North west Mumbai district president Sultan Salim Baig and supported by NCP leaders Asif Sheikh, Andheri Taluka President graduate cell Sameer Sheikh and Sudip Pandey. 

North west Mumbai district president graduate cell Asif Sheikh said“ No matter what religion/cast/background you belong to, Blood is an essential component for life of every one but many people do not think about it until the need is critical. Every blood donation saves or improves the lives of up to three people. Each year 234 million major operations are performed worldwide, many involving blood transfusions or treatments resulting in a continuous need for donations.” 

Sultan Salim Baig  and Sameer Sheikh together urged people, who have recovered from the novel coronavirus, to donate blood to save other people's lives.They released a statement "If you have surpassed the 14 day quarantine after testing positive, and after the last negative result, your blood contains the antibodies that can fight the virus. Others too can recover if you donate your blood ,especially those who are serious. Please donate blood and save lives."

General secretary of Mumbai, Maharashtra and  Film star Sudip Pandey encouraged his fans to come forward and help people suffering from the disease. He said “Donating blood is easier than watching ongoing India Australia cricket matches . It takes less time and, depending on your team's performance, it's a much less stressful experience all round. Plus you get to lie down for a bit and save lives. Thousands of patients rely on blood donations to survive so I would encourage people to just do it. There's no quicker or easier way to be a bit of a hero and believe me I feel like a real Hero myself when I donate blood. Sultan Salim Baig’s effort is truly commendable and must be applauded! ”
